Summary
When Alec Lightwood moves from New York to Alicante, a small town with a population of less than 6,000 in Idris County, he thinks that he’ll be facing nothing but dull days and conservative people. At first, it is simple details; it’s strange noises, knocks and scratches, and bad smells. But then it’s nightmares, and they become more and more real. Soon enough, he starts seeing a humanoid shadow getting closer and closer to him as the days go by, and he doesn’t know how to stop it.
How are you supposed to tell people that a demonic being with an insatiable craving for human suffering has latched onto your soul?
