Zhao Yuanzhou's hands trembled, and just as he was about to withdraw, ready to give in to the overwhelming sense of defeat, a soft pulse radiated from Bai Jiu’s chest. A faint warmth, barely perceptible but undeniable, spread through the air.

Without a word, Zhao Yuanzhou stepped closer, his hand reaching for Zhuo Yichen’s. The gesture was small, but it held so much meaning—comfort, reassurance, and an unspoken promise. Then, almost instinctively, their lips met in a soft, fleeting kiss.

A fix-it story set after episodes 33-34, where Bai Jiu survives against all odds. Zhuo Yichen and Zhao Yuanzhou's share a tender moment of reassurance, promising to protect their younger brother-like companion no matter the cost.

Summary
Zhao Yuanzhou and Zhuo Yichen underwent an illusion and sees different events of Bing Yi and Ying Long's memories When they meet the exiled dragon god Ying Long, old wounds and impossible wishes resurface. Reuniting with Bing Yi is no longer possible, but in Yichen who now carries both demon blood and Bing Yi’s eyes, Ying Long saw a bittersweet reflection. They learned a love that once burned bright and soft, and perhaps still lingers.
Or when Zhao Yuanzhou and Zhuo Yichen got frozen and undergo an illusion test in Qijuan Cave. They learned a lot about Ying Long and his regrets.

What had started out as a seemingly suspicious string of bodies that had no connections to one another, ending up being far greater than they had anticipated. And getting embroiled into the battle between the Princes of the Underworld was not on their list of expectations.
(Or, a completely self-indulgent sequel no one asked for but I will write cuz I'm deeply obsessed with these characters and I can't forget about them.)
