rui strolls right into the classroom not too long after, rummaging through his bag, searching for something without looking up, and tsukasa’s eye twitches. wasn’t that a safety risk? he could easily crash into someone if he wasn’t looking, and rui already had a list of rules broken in—
“tsukasa-kun, look at this new mechanism i added to my latest creation,” rui beams once he reaches his seat, fidgeting with its corners.
now, one could say that tsukasa was a stickler for the rules, and they wouldn’t exactly be wrong. he always did his best to follow the rules, if they were set in place, to the very letter. most of the time, he memorised the rules even before he realised it. he respected the air of importance they brought, and most rules, not all, were in place for safety and made sense to follow!
“rui, tuck in your shirt! don’t think you can hide that from me by wearing a cardigan over it.”

He turned his head upward. Looking past the gloomy nimbus clouds, there was a night sky speckled with twinkling stars.
He frowned at the magnificent sight.
‘These stars look lovely tonight. I want to shine just as bright at them, if possible.’
Would he ever reach his dream?
That was a question Tsukasa hated to ask. He would like to think he was capable, but at the rate of how things were going, he wasn’t sure. He couldn’t help but feel hopeless. He knew the road to stardom was onerously long, but he was rather impatient.
He tore his vision away from the captivating view.
Ahead lied a quaint theatre, as large as a dot from how far it was. Eerily enough, the mysterious theatre appeared while he admired the night sky. Everything about this strange path made Tsukasa feel like he made a grave mistake. He decided the reasonable option was to come back another day and tell his friends about his peculiar discovery. But his curiously overpowered his judgment and impelled him to keep going.

Thanks to a little surprise in Wonderland Sekai, Tsukasa remembers how incompetent he truly is.
