“Is Sophie your girlfriend?”
Jannik’s fingers freeze. “Um… No. No, she’s not”, he answers. Darren thinks he’s telling the truth. “She’s just a friend.”
“Hm.” Darren observes him for a second. He doesn’t seem like he’s lying, despite not looking the Australian in the eyes. “Okay. I’m glad you made a new friend then.”
Jannik snickers. “Come on, Darren. You’re not my dad.”
Darren laughs. “I feel like I am sometimes.”
Jannik looks at him, his eyes serious. “Me too”, he says quietly.

Summary
The moment the ball hits the court, fitting perfectly inside the lines, Jannik freezes.
He sees him fall to the ground on the other side of the net. He buries his face in his hands, smiling blindingly. When he gets up, there is clay all over his kit, clinging to his back and legs.
There’s clay all over Jannik’s hands too. He feels sick when he glances at his palms.
Disbelief mixes with resentment in his stomach and Jannik thinks he’s going to throw up.Yet, he somehow drags himself to Alcaraz, congratulating him robotically. He can’t stand to look at him, the triumph on his face making Jannik feel angry. Furious, even. He grips Alcaraz’s hand tighter than he probably should, his knuckles whitening. The other man doesn’t wince, though. He only smirks at Jannik, victorious. “Great match”, Alcaraz says to him perfectly politely. But there is a malicious glint in his eyes, Jannik swears he sees it.

Summary
Casper checks the time on his watch. 8:46 AM. If he doesn’t get his coffee and leave soon, he’s going to be late. He taps his fingers on the counter impatiently, observing the working man. He seems a bit clumsy, his movements sloppy and not fast enough. Casper just prays he doesn’t spill his drink.

Summary
Carlos moans when Jannik kisses him harder. He backs Carlos into the kitchen counter and swipes his tongue over his bottom lip. His hand sneaks onto Carlos’s abs and he groans at the feel of his solid muscles flexing under his touch. “I love your body.”
“Hmmm, my body only?”, Carlos tries to bait him. Jannik should probably tease him back but—
“No. Just… you.” Jannik pecks Carlos’s cheek before moving onto his neck and leaving a trail of kisses there. Carlos smiles.
“I love you t—” Carlos is cut off by Jannik’s mouth on his. Jannik’s mind is blissfully quiet, his senses only filled with Carlos. His smell, his taste, his voice, the feel of his body, his beard, the sight of him, all flushed and wanting—

Summary
His absolutely favourite artwork to sketch are Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. People either love it or think it’s boring, but for Carlos the simple beauty of it is captivating. They’re easy to draw but at the same time, it’s impossible to recreate the genius strokes of the painter. Carlos loves the challenge of trying to.
He’s been sitting on the bench in front of it for a while, staring at the wooden frame. He’s finally putting his pencil to work when he hears a click!
He turns his head to the side and sees a tall man with a camera, taking photographs of A Wheatfield with Cypresses. One of his eyes is closed, the other looking through the lens. A mop of red curls falls onto the man’s forehead. Cute, he thinks.

Summary
It’s the best he has felt on a tennis court since he won Wimbledon two years ago. All his tricks work, both his forehand and backhand shots always landing inside the court. He feels his flair coming back, confidence rising every time the spectators cheer for him and chant his name. He feels like a ballet dancer, smooth and elegant on the court. Jannik has no answer to his level. Not even his stellar serve can deny Carlos his title back. When he hits the last winner, he falls to the ground. After an entire season of drought, he’s a Grand Slam champion again. He smiles so widely his cheeks start to hurt and he buries his face in his hands, feeling a bit choked up.
Jannik engulfs him in a hug. “You were incredible. Artista. So beautiful.” Carlos hugs him tighter in response.

Summary
“We should stay here forever”, Bradley told him last summer while flipping a pancake. He was wearing a checkered red-white apron and whistling Blondie’s greatest hits. The kitchen smelled of pancakes and freshly brewed coffee. It was all so ridiculously domestic and Jake felt butterflies erupt in his stomach when Bradley looked into his eyes and smiled softly.
“Here as in your kitchen?” Jake asked just to be difficult. His father would have scolded him for asking stupid questions but Bradley was not his father. He was nothing like him. Sometimes Jake thought that he was an angel sent by God to remind him of His divine love and forgiveness, even though Jake often felt like he didn’t deserve them. He rubbed the cross pendant hanging from the gold chain around his neck and thought, The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
