Fives claimed that when he and Echo first started out Commander Cody used to visit and make them run laps until they almost passed out. Tup said that he heard from one of the 212th shinies that the Commander hated Jedi, and was only putting up with Obi-Wan because he had to. Jesse told her that he would drill new recruits for up to ten hours at a time, putting them through physical and mental hell for a week straight until he was satisfied with their performance.

Jason lunged forward, hauling his brother up. “Move!”
They sprinted, boots pounding against concrete. The timer bled down—00:07, 00:06—Jason’s chest tight, lungs burning. He grabbed Dick without thinking, wrapping his arms around him as they dove behind a stack of crates.
The world turned white.
The blast ripped the building apart, heat and fire swallowing everything. Jason’s vision went blank, ears ringing, body shaking under the weight of memory and flame.

Bruce skidded to a halt, breath hissing through his teeth.

Bruce grimaces and nods, wondering how best to console Dick for the mistake he made in setting up the interview today. Then, Dick’s face splits into a grin and he squeals. “Are you telling me that I met Superman today? That’s so cool!”
Bruce stares at his son, trying to piece together where, in the past few years, he went wrong. “You’re grounded.”
