Summary
Dean escapes his traditionalist hometown, away from his controlling alpha in order to erase his mistakes. Seen as nothing but a misbehaving burden that’ll always be rejected, he wants to make it right. This time he’ll listen and happily accept submission and happily kneel under any command, because following instincts means everything.
Cas tries his best to understand what it means to be an alpha, to administer strength and stability, but feels frustrated when he wants to use his alpha voice, his scent, or follow instincts, as they are nothing more but signs of primitive savagery. A philosophy rooted deeply within him since childhood, that following instincts means nothing.

Dean gets more freedom than he bargained for that it feels like whiplash once his role switches from a misbehaving omega in need of an alpha, to a confused omega in need of enlightenment, and he hates it.
Cas worries that his True Mate dream is on the line, once the random omega he had doctored and is now caring for, Dean Winchester, seems a little too interested for his comfort. The last thing he needs is to be forcefully bonded and collard to an omega who wasn’t his true mate. A new trend that many omegas have taken.

Cas had been confused when he was told he was needed back in Dean Winchester’s life. His Dean was an adult now, he hadn't seen him in 20 years, what could he need his old imaginary friend for ?
