Summary
Phainon is starting the last semester of his bachelor degree, all while focusing on his swimming career and being haunted by childhood memories. His coach is sketchy, his mental health is derailing and his sister thinks he’s friendless. Worst of all, he cannot stop obsessing over his mysterious new neighbour.
Mydei has cut ties with his wealthy parents, deciding to open a home bakery with his closest friend. Their business struggles with a glaring lack of customers, which somehow leads him to strike a fake-dating deal with the most infuriating man he ever met.

“I was the one who asked him out, actually,” Mydei answered. Phainon was too dense to make the first move, after all.
All three pairs of eyes at the table stared at him. Clearly, they seemed to have thought the opposite.

“Do you understand the weight of your words?” Phainon asked him, his voice low and shaky.
Mydei stared back at him, thumb stroking unruly, slightly wet from tears, hair strands away from Phainon’s temple. Depending on his answer, there would be no turning back.
He had been deprived of affection and had fled it, taking refuge in violence. Now, he found out that he loved the thrill of being in Phainon’s arms as much as he loved the thrill of battle. Maybe, he would even learn to love it more.
Mydei almost dies again. As Hyacine is out of Okhema to assist at the Grove, a worried Phainon is left to tend to Mydei's wounds. A rare moment of intimacy, tenderness, and vulnerability between the two warriors during the flame-chase journey.
