Summary
Paige had never been particularly close with her brother. But now he's missing, and she intends to find him; even if it means getting out of her comfort zone and venturing from her parents' bookshop.
After weeks of putting ads in papers and visiting oracle stands, someone points her into the direction of Jezebel's Billard Hall, where she finally meets someone willing to help her search for her brother.
The Doorman is more than happy to help poor Paige reconnect with her lost brother. After all, the bibliomancer is intriguing, bright and bubbly in a way that he isn't used to. And he has some insider knowledge on the subject of Paige's search, himself.

"You’ve been avoiding me.” The Doorman stated, amused sounding, “Quite impolite of you.”
The Drifter snarled in response and swung out at where he guessed the other’s torso would be. There was a tearing sound, a mix of cloth, meat, and something unnatural, before the hand on his neck released him. He immediately whirled, teeth bared and claws at the ready, only to find the Doorman merely adjusting his cuffs and affixing him with an unimpressed raise of his brow. There was no sign of damage on him, as though the wound that he had felt had never existed at all. Bastard.
The Drifter learns what it feels like to be hunted.
