Summary
Tim has spent more time with Mrs. Mac than with Jack, has more memories of him running after Gotham’s vigilantes than of the two of them together, more pictures of Batman than of him as a baby. Jack tried to be a father and failed. Somehow, that hurts more than what he imagines it would’ve felt like if he hadn’t tried at all.
Or, Jack Drake hadn’t been a good father.
And yet, as Tim stands over his coffin, looking at his father’s greyed hair and embalmed skin, he can’t help but mourn.

Summary
It was something like an open secret in Gotham, that even though all it’s heroes were open to help no matter the situation, each one of them had a special affinity to certain matters.
For example, children from all districts knew to yell for Nightwing if they found themselves lost and scared. Small business owners often painted little Oracle symbols on their doorsteps, to warn away possible thieves with the knowledge that Gotham’s cryptic hacker had their eye on them. Working girls would send a quick prayer to the Red Hood before seeing their seediest clients; and as such, knew who to call for if things took a turn for the worst.
And Red Robin… well. His was a very specific bunch.

That was almost hurtful. If he was less sure of himself, it might even sting.
But by the time she said it, he’d clocked her reluctance, her poker face. Whether it was personal or not, he wasn’t the kind of guy to force her in the moment. He had more game than that, and besides, what kind of story would that be to tell their grandkids?
