After being outed and tripping on game 7, Shane wakes up in a hotel in Saskatchewan - confused and in a body that doesn’t fit him quite right, and his parents sleeping in the bed next to him.
Despite confusion, he decides to do what he does best - go for a run and make a plan while he does it.
1. It seems to be 2008, the exact day he met Ilya all those years ago
2. He, possibly, has a chance to fall in love all over again
3. There is no way in hell that he’ll spend another decade pining and yearning at long distance

He has no clue how he is going to do it - but he’ll make sure Ilya Rozanov will be his, sooner rather than later this time aroundShane returns to the hotel room a bit more with it, and now with a plan. To woo Ilya Rozanov at first sight and to, this time, win the prospect cup. However, a certain russian shaped wrench will be thrown in Shane’s thought out plans.

My version of a post tuna melt alternate (happier) ending. Ilya jumps up off that couch and asks Shane to stay so they can talk it out. Our boys just magically learned to communicate earlier because that's the fun of fanfiction lol
Apparently we have to specify No AI now? I've been out of the game for a while. But no I would never use AI to write a fic and it saddens me to even have to say that. All mistakes are my own.

Summary
Entering an actual relationship near the very beginning of when they first meet, Shane is still paranoid about pictures of them getting shared so Ilya buys him a Polaroid camera instead to document their relationship all the way back from 2012. The only problem is that he never intended for Yuna to find the album.

“I know we can’t have pictures of each other, but I still want them,” he confessed, still fiddling with Shane’s hair for his own comfort. “And I thought maybe...if they were just ours, you might be okay with it.”Shane stayed silent, eyes glancing between his tense expression and the bag as he pulled out a Polaroid camera. His thumb was gripping it so hard he thought it might crack, his anxiety manifesting physically.
“Ilya...” He paused, finally sitting up a bit more. Enough that Ilya had no choice but to let his hand fall away from his hair or else, it would seem too clingy.
“Is fine, if you don’t like idea,” he clarified, even though the thought of being rejected terrified him more than he could possibly express. “Was just a thought—”
“I like it,” Shane interjected before he could spin himself into a tizzy he would deny ever feeling in the first place.
