“Can I help you?” Chuuya said, not moving from his position or even putting down his phone. (Just because he has to look over the store today doesn’t mean he has to be employee of the month).

Dazai pursed his lips. “I .. had a hold on a Centennial copy of Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises but I can’t find it in the back.”

“The century copy of who now?”

Dazai’s silent groan from earlier came back as an internal scream.

    Summary

“In exchange for getting me out of here, you can have me.”

Chuuya thought he had nothing else to live for. He had run away from everything he knew only to be captured and sentenced to a fate worse than death. His hope was long gone. That is until one fateful night he meets a mysterious stranger that turns his life around for the better… or worse.

One problem still remained: he hated his guts.

Dazai Osamu is the most irritating person he’s ever had the displeasure of meeting, and now Chuuya was aboard his ship. Chuuya knows nothing of this cold newcomer or why he is risking everything to achieve his goal. But worst of all, he knows nothing of what fate has in store for them on the high seas.

    Summary

The man grunts as he rolls off of you. “Argh. You wretched little–”

Your mind is wracked with pain, with flashes of memory that you can’t place. A previous life? You’re not sure. But after the sting of your heads colliding, this strain is too much for your mind to bear. Your vision teeters, hanging on by a single thread, all that’s left are that man’s intense red eyes.

You emerge from your trance with a shaky breath. You reach for your throat, as if to make sure that it’s still in one piece, only to find it coated in a thin sheen of sweat.

    What was that.

    ___

You saved Baldur’s Gate almost 300 years ago. You died 150 years ago. On a new life now, you find that memories from your past lead you to a specific silver-haired man. Who was he, and why won't he leave you be?

tldr; An Elf-Tav reincarnation story where Tav dreams about Astarion in their nightly reveries and eventually seeks him out once they reach maturity. Things definitely totally go well.

    Summary

“I—" Astarion looks taken aback, his anger temporarily fizzling out. She feels him review the interaction, their tadpole link still active: how she’d pleaded with him to stay his hand, and how he’d done it.

    Kira relaxes. They’re getting somewhere.

Astarion grabs a fistful of her robes and hauls her closer, the full brunt of his terror and rage slamming back into the front of her mind. He demands, snarling, “Why didn’t you let me kill him? What have you done to me?”

Kira was a druid, before the parasite sucked all her earth magic out of her skull and left her with nothing but the burning sorcery that exploded out of her in childhood-- Kira used to be a lot of things, before her illness and her abduction by mind flayers.

Now, she's a leader searching for a cure and struggling to keep peace in their camp. It might be easier if Astarion would stop tugging at her tail.

    Summary

“Oh, gods forbid they respond positively to you doing a good thing,” Neve deadpans. She squeezes him a little again. “That’s sort of how it works, Astarion.”

She can’t even see it. Believes the best of them all so earnestly, himself included, that she can’t see how it would all fall away without her at the center. It’s enough to make a person feel like they might actually deserve it.

“And by it, you mean…?” he asks instead.

Her huffed laugh of disbelief ruffles the hair at his neck. “Friendship, you idiot,” she answers. “And the general acquisition thereof.”

Astarion cuts a sideways look at her as best he can with her still nestled so close. “And is that what we are? Friends?”

He’d meant it to tease her, and yet finds that the silence before her answer twists his stomach. Because…he doesn’t actually know, either.

“Yes, Astarion,” Neve says gently, after a moment. “I think we’re very good friends.”

    -

Neve and Astarion, continued. She's not a victim. Not a target. Not just one night it's better to forget. But then...whatever in the world could she be?
