Sure, as captain, Gepard has more to shoulder than the average person, but sometimes you worry he takes on more weight than he can take. Relaxation is not a part of the man’s vocabulary. You know that he’s capable and strong and resilient, you have no doubt of that, but if someone continues to care for others without looking after themselves, it will slowly, but surely, eat them inside out. You, however, also know Gepard and his stubborn pride well enough. If you so much as mention that you were worried about him, he would refuse harder, and then start to worry about you instead, on top of everything he already has to take care of.
So you’ve involved slight manipulation techniques in your asking. A little “but we won’t see each other outside of these dinner hours since we’re both so busy now,” and “it feels better to eat with a friend” has managed to convince him to eat dinner with you at least twice a week now.
... in which you and Gepard end up in an agreement neither of you expected to find yourself in, and it ends in a way neither of you expected it to, either.
