背景設定是現代韓國，2022年5月頒布《檢察廳法》跟《刑事訴訟法》修正案，階段廢除檢察官直接偵查權後的刑偵群像文。
非爽文，是被現實與無奈填滿的，充滿哲學、神經科學與心理學討論的相對寫實辦案過程，而在這枯燥乏味的辦案過程中，可能但非必然會出現隱晦的偷偷談戀愛的青年們的故事。
