The kid looks almost terrified for a minute and Whitaker swears to himself internally but he tries his best to warm the kid up, “how are you feeling now? Any numbness?”
The kid shakes his head, and instead he asks more, “how does it feel…?”
It felt like Whitaker was being dragged, his mouth drying, the kid clearly needs hope and he’s asking for it from Whitaker– worst person if anything. But he smiles and tries to calm down, “It’s calm” a lie, “I feel more peaceful” another lie, “is there anything you’re worried about?”

Summary
The Oldest Dream/Most Ancient Dream had fallen for their protagonist, Secretive Plotter yet the other was already in love with someone else. That someone was his future self. Someone who he hasn't become, someone who he will never be able to be.
He didn't like how SP would try to be his future self's constellation, how SP would sponsor so many coins, and how SP would try to be alone with the future him. He feels so lonely with SP being like this.
How did it all go wrong? they all were so happy without his future self before! Why can't it all go back to normal?
Where he had cuddled with his protagonist all night long and the other wouldn't mind, where he had kissed his SP's cheeks and giggle while his SP would just coax him back to studying/eating/sleeping. Now, it all changed. Whenever he tried to cuddle with his protagonist, the other would reject him gently and watch his future self without care! He can't even kiss his cheeks anymore without earning a small glare.
Why is this happening to him? Wasn't he supposed to be having a happy life? Didn't he deserve a happy life?...

Finney Blake wakes up on September 7th 2021, this should not be a problem. However the last thing Finney remembered was that it was the 11th of December 2021, when he walked out of The Grabbers Basement.
(Finney Blake has been given the chance to prevent any of the kidnappings from ever happening, Finney sets out with the goal of only saving the other boys from The Grabber. But along the way he grows closer with all of them, and maybe gets his shot to say something that was left unsaid.
Essentially the Time Travel Fix-It, modern retelling that I was in desperate need of, and hopefully others are as well.

But he soon realized that all the things he did for finney was not some "joke" he could laugh at. Because his feelings are true, the way he loves seeing finney laugh, the way he loved seeing finney happy. It was all true
It's not all just about the dare.
