Steve doesn’t know whether to feel relief or panic at the sight of the flashing police lights, and his stomach settles on a weird in between that makes him nauseous. The chief’s truck is pulled up behind Munson’s van, with another patrol car angled at the front. The sick pit in his stomach widens as he watches Munson, arms cuffed behind his back, led toward the back of Powell’s car. Skin too pale, hair a mess of twigs and leaves, blood on a torn sleeve.
His eyes flicker toward Steve when he starts to walk over. There’s a flash of something across his face before his expression falls blank. He doesn’t even send a nasty look his way.
Hopper says, “Back it up, Harrington, this is a crime scene.”
