Summary
“I hate my life,” Oikawa complained miserably.
“Why? Because your neighbour’s hot and he doesn’t like you?” Kuroo asked, plopping down on the couch next to Oikawa.
“Because my neighbour’s hot and he doesn’t like me,” Oikawa confirmed, lip jutting out in a pout.
“To be fair, you did let your dog almost maul him,” Kuroo reminded, head jerking to the Akita whose ears perked up at his mention.
“I did not ‘let him!’” Oikawa shouted, appalled by the accusation.
For Oikawa Tooru, his dog has been the most important part of his life for the past three years. He's content that his world revolves around Aki until his new neighbour, Iwaizumi Hajime, moves in and Oikawa realizes that there's definitely room in his heart for more than one.
But his dog isn't as keen on the idea and doesn't hesitate to make his displeasure known. It's easy for Iwaizumi to earn Oikawa's love but he comes as a package deal. Unfortunately for Iwaizumi, earning Aki's proves difficult although he isn’t willing to give up that easily.
Cue: lots of vying for Oikawa's attention, gratuitous wooing, unintentional fame, and a case of dognapping.

“I’m in love,” Oikawa declared, succumbing to the warm embrace of his arms once more, burying his head deep within the confines.
“You’re dating someone? Oh shit, I didn’t know that,” Kuroo whistled.
“I wish,” Oikawa responded with a sigh, memory flashing back to the handsome stranger and his green eyes, warm complexion, and those arms –
“Oh, so it’s that kind of love. Alright, hit me. What’s his name?” Oikawa’s face twisted down in an offended glare. “You don’t know his name?” Kuroo asked carefully, lips teetering on the edge of a smile.
“Not yet, but I will. Mark my words, the next time he comes in here I’m going to get his name and his number,” Oikawa announced firmly.
“That is, if he comes back. You know, this could have been a one time thing,” Bokuto reminded unhelpfully.
“I take back what I said earlier. I’m firing you,” Oikawa deadpanned.

Iwaizumi's face is so much clearer now. He seems like a man of his regiment; sharp edges that could express benevolence, ultraviolence, unforgiving hazel eyes, the bearer of cruel tidings, knuckles firm and ruddy – all of which disproportionate to the way his hands would gently graze over Oikawa's deathly pale ones.
