Summary
Here is what remains of Dean Winchester’s life: one brother (still living), one hundred fifty-seven thousand nine hundred and ninety-eight empty beer bottles, an unappreciated collection of cassette tapes, a pile of flannels that would very nearly outlive the existence of the species God called humanity, forty-two cents, seventy-three dollars, a car that will remain unused until after the passing of Sam Winchester where it will be then melted down into scrap metal, a weathered headstone, an already fading reputation, and a many-times folded square of a menu for the only restaurant in Lebanon that Dean had never attended but thought frequently of visiting with someone he loved very deeply.
There are, of course, other items, tangible and intangible, that Dean Winchester has left behind, but these are the ten items on which his Heaven is built.
Here is the sum total of Dean Winchester’s Heaven: nine perfectly happy moments and one fantasy, spread across thirty-nine miserable years. The fantasy is something Naomi lets Castiel give Dean. She knows Castiel thinks it will let Dean escape. Castiel is wrong.

Dean shook his head. “Listen,” Jane said. “Dancing will be good for you. You will get all the ladies. You will get big and strong. Like a man.” Dean’s eyes were getting wider and wider, but he didn’t move. Waiting for Mary.
“Jane,” Mary said, stepping in to rescue Dean. “He’s a little shy. Maybe you can convince him tomorrow.”
Or, the 1980s is the peak of the Jazzercise craze. When Dean is four, Mary starts taking him with her.

Your shoulders are gonna hit that mat at the end of the roll, right,” Jackson thumps the mat to demonstrate, “and you can’t panic. You gotta hold me tight. You got a loose grip, you panic even a little, then it’s gone, right? Cause you’re putting yourself in a position to get pinned. You gotta hold tight and roll him over.”
Or, when Dean Winchester is sixteen, he gets arrested for stealing, sent to a boys home and joins a high school wrestling team. Surprisingly, it's the wrestling team that makes the biggest impression.

“A lesbian?” Sam suggested at the same time Mary said, “a sodomite?”
“Actually,” Jack piped up into the complete silence that followed Mary’s words, “sodomy refers to both oral and anal sex. Even though it’s used as an outdated term for homosexuality, it doesn’t actually mean homosexual. I learned that from Google,” he told them all proudly.
“Very good, son,” Cas said in a dazed voice.
Or, Dean comes out to Mary. But not without a few major misunderstandings along the way.

The worst part of dying and going to heaven at the tender of age forty-one only a week after defeating the one and only God -- outside of dying and going to heaven at the tender age of forty-one only a week after defeating the one and only God -- was that now that Dean had eternity with Cas in his house and his dad up the road, Dean was going to have to have a conversation he’d dedicated the majority of his teens and young adulthood to avoiding. Dean was going to -- Sam, no one needs that many flags -- have to -- Sam, put the decorative soaps away, seriously -- come out.
Needless to say, it does not go over well.

Sam was pretty sure he could read every single gay friendly guide to coming out or supporting queer family members ever written and literally none of them would even imply that arguing with gay people that they were actually just homophobic constituted as "ally behavior". However, Sam was equally sure that none of those book authors had found themselves accidentally watching their brother get pounded by an Angel of the Lord at 9 am on Tuesday, so Sam was pretty sure he might actually still have the higher ground. Now, if only Jack would stop trying to bond with Dean using gay slurs long enough for Sam to convince everyone of that, he might just be able to cobble together some remnant of sanity or, failing that, dignity.
Or, the one where Sam desperately wants to invent PFLAG but Dean won't stop teaching Jack gay slurs
