The whole situation is messed up, and of course all the bloody Evers have questions for him, but in the end he still won the trial. Thanks to her.
He doesn't care when he gets his captain's badge, or when Chaddick claps him on the back and tries to cheer him up ("She's poison, that girl. Don't beat yourself up over it, mate, it's not like you could have done any better..."). He barely registers Beatrix hanging on his arm.
He just can't figure it out.
Tedros is confused, Agatha is having a personal crisis, and the worst part is that they seem - inexplicably - to be in love with each other.

Summary
King Poseidon has forbidden any of his merpeople from visiting the surface and the dangerous landwalkers that dwell on it. Naturally, that made Prince Percy want to talk to the pretty blonde landwalker even more. After rescuing the princess from drowning, Percy trades his fin for legs to better understand this strange new world and the beautiful gray eyed girl he saved. Only, he has no idea what he's doing and the princess doesn't seem to either. Know what he's doing that is.
