“Yosuke, please no, you don’t have to do this for my sake—”
“It’s not just for your sake. My grades go way up whenever I spend a lot of time with you.” He ended the statement with a teasing wink, and Yu felt his pulse race.

Normally, Yosuke was frustrated at the faultiness of the filter between his brain and mouth, but for once he wished he could get rid of it. “Are you going to be…okay?” Yosuke asked hesitantly.
Yu didn’t respond at first, but eventually gave a bone-weary exhale. “I’ll be fine, Yosuke.” He went to unlock the door, but Yosuke grabbed his wrist before he could step away.
“Don’t give me that shit, Partner. You’ve seen the worst of me. Don’t try to hide.”

His thoughts began to run wild. Of course, it was his rotten luck to get stuck with a stupid new ailment that they knew nothing about. It was bad enough that he couldn’t keep his mouth shut on a normal day, and now this dumb fairy tale curse was going to come along and spill all his secrets to anyone who happened to be nearby.
“We’re not going to let that happen, Yosuke,” Yu said, placing his hand gently on Yosuke’s shoulder. “We will figure it out; we always do.”

Summary
They never touched so intimately before, but they were always touching. Arms or thighs next together, an arm slung across a shouder… a hand on the other or on a wrist, pulling them away from a shadow. Yosuke never even realised how much they've touched in the past until Yu left and his body felt cold all over, a warmth that couldn't come back until now.
Yosuke misses Yu. It turns out that Yu does too.
