Summary
Kaveh is no stranger to the desert. He has been running from himself all his life, and the desert knows that better than any person could. His spiraling inevitably leads to the championship and back to the desert. It must be destiny. He is prone to making self-destructive decisions, and this is no exception. He has always been a painful thing to witness, but no one can pull him from a curse he's placed upon himself, no pity can ever be his salvation. You can only lead a horse to water, the horse must choose to drink or die of thirst.
There are no rules that govern when or how a life ends. There is no procedure to finality beyond its ubiquity. Naïve child, you, too, will fall to dust. The desert is a graveyard and one day your bones will join the sand.

“Omi, was it?” And there’s the voice that Sakusa so desperately wishes he could ignore. He turns to meet the catcher’s gaze anyway.
“Kiyoomi. I prefer Sakusa.”
“Right, Omi. Ya pitch?”
“According to my contract.”
“Listen,” Atsumu adjusts himself once more so he’s relaxed along the chair rather than sitting on the cushion properly—legs again propped onto the armrest, “I’m gonna be yer catcher nine times outta ten and I love this game. We can both at least agree that a workin’ relationship would be beneficial for the both of us.”

Listen I don't know anything about baseball, I bothered my baseball knowledgeable partner through this whole fic. It was wonderful. They're great, they're adorable, they deserve each other. I'm glad they get to be happy for 100k words with only like very minor angst.

Started as a Tangled AU fusion with Star Trek 2009, developed into its own thing.
Spock has lived an entire life in seclusion, brought up by a Romulan to believe he was one too. Convinced his telepathy was a rare gift that must be protected at all costs, he was prohibited to touch anyone and leave the house.
Jim Kirk comes across him accidentally after he was hired to steal a Vulcan artefact. I'm a big proponent of tangled AUs and this is fantastic. It keeps the basic tangled structure but is massively original. The worldbuilding is great, the characters make sense, the plot is interesting. This is what all other-media AUs should be amen
