Summary
Phil was on top of the world. He was finally in the biggest event in music history after years of writing and rejection from record labels, not only with a Grammy nominated album, but with a Grammy in his very own hands for Best New Artist.
Dan didn’t really know why he was here. Dan had always thought award shows were a bit overkill, and he’s saying that as an Oscar nominated actor (he’s trying not to get his hopes up about that, but it’s damn hard not to. His first big break, excellent reviews, not only nominated for Best Motion Picture but him nominated as Best Actor in a Leading Role? Everything seemed to be going his way for once in his life).
So, when the two of them meet at the bar at the Grammys afterparty, what's the worst that could happen?
An album, probably.OR :: Phil is a famous musician and Dan is a famous actor. They get together and lots of fluff and angst come from it.

"Yello, Munson household.” Eddie answered as he started twiddling with the chord.
“Eddie! Oh my god you will not believe this, this is the craziest news we’ve had all year!” Gareth was on the other line sounding relatively worked up and Eddie’s smile faltered in surprise.
“Okay, well spit it out dude!” Eddie laughed again out of awkwardness.
He heard Gareth breathe in heavily on the other line before screaming down the phone. “Steve Harrington is back in town!”
Eddie recoiled from the phone due to the sheer volume of Gareth’s all out shriek. It was a fair reaction, in all honesty. No one had seen the guy since he disappeared last Halloween.
OR: Steve Harrington goes off the map after the events of season 2 and comes back to Hawkins very punk. Eddie Munson doesn't know how to feel but he'll sort it out.

“Thou… shalt not flirt with other demons in front of your demon partner?” Phil squinted at him and then flinched when he felt something wrap around his dick, thin and long and tight, squeezing him painfully enough to drive tears into his eyes before letting go again.
“I’d recommend you stop trying to be funny,” Dan purred into his ear, the sudden closeness of his voice driving chills down Phil’s spine. “It’ll only make things worse for you.”
“What’s the first commandment, Phil?”
Phil has a vacuum where his faith used to be, and Dan is all too happy to fill it.

In a sense, Dan has known Phil all his life. Others have known him longer, known him since he took his first breath in front of a live television audience, but it seems to Dan that no one has known him better.
or: phil’s life is a tv show, and he’s the only one who doesn’t know. dan—actor, fan, hot for a badly dressed bottle blond—auditions for a leading role. this goes about as well as dan howell + reality tv stardom could possibly go.
