Summary
Ghost had locked the door behind him within seconds, mask ripped off and forgotten, the feral creature within him screaming at the sight of a terrified Fledgling. Fledglings should not be scared. Fledglings should be cradled close and held away from the world, safe from the humans and other monsters who would dare to harm them. Fledglings should be warm with fresh blood from their Sire, teething like a newborn babe, and purring in delight while the venom works through their system peacefully. Fledglings' eyes should not be red.

Summary
It’s only now that Soap realizes the skull isn’t that– a skull. It’s a mask. There’s skin around the eyes, stained black with grease paint. There are flashes of pale pink as the gloves tear at the black fabric underneath the hard-plated skull, the same tone as the exposed forearm.
It’s not even a skeleton. It’s a man. A dead man.
-
Soap is haunted. A strange, horrified figure of a dead man won't leave his periphery-- and it seems to want something. If he wants to fall back into any semblance of normalcy, he'll have to deal with this specter hands on.
As things turn out, aiding the dead may be more complicated than he'd thought.Bookmarked by anninterested

Summary
It’s strange. In the moment, he hadn’t felt it yet— that all-encompassing despondency that sits comfortably now in the pit of his chest— just a buzzing numbness as he watched Simon’s body slam back through the door with a strength it shouldn’t possess. He’d watched the deep, warm brown eyes he whispered quiet promises to glaze over into vacant, milky white in less time than it took for him to take a breath in.
Now he watches as the third head of the man he loves coughs up something too green to be blood but too brown to be mucus, and the smell of it hits him before he can do so much as comfort the groans emanating from two of Simon’s three mouths.
Two and a half months ago, Ghost was infected. Soap hasn't left his side.

Summary
Fated Foes. Fated Friends? Fated to be something more…? We’ll Meet Again follows the story of two of Fate’s finer creations. Two souls, handpicked by the divine herself, to walk the Earth together until the condition that breaks the spell which binds them is met. Through many reincarnations, living more lives than they could keep track of, John and Simon loath, laugh, live, and perhaps learn to love each other.
Fate is to blame for a lot of things. Some of them good, some of them terrible. Some see her work in the little, bothersome moments, like forgetting your umbrella on the only rainy day in June. Others believe that she walks around with a ball of red yarn and ties it between the fingers of lovers as they sleep. Fate herself would say her actions are much, much larger than simply losing your keys or the trivialities of romance.
We’ll Meet Again provides a glance into each of these fickle lives, where the men face trials, trivialities, and the huge challenge of coming to terms with their feelings. Feelings which, at the time, could land them in some very hot water.

BEAUTIFUL FANTASTIC PERFECT 👏👏🥺🥺🥹🥹
I assumed before reading this that they weren't going to remember their past lives and that it would be less of a historical setting, structured and chronological, and more jumping between different universes, timelines, and such. But it was such a goated idea to have them remember EACH LIFE bc THAT really made space for progression and messy feelings and left you screeching in joy since you could tell how long they've known each other and how their connection ran deeper than anyone could comprehend
the addition of omnipotent beings as sort of maybe narrators/catalysts was cool and also unexpected
the life where they were secret agents and ghost was a drug lord on the side was my fave probably lol. It was just the final OH THEY IN LOVE LOVE before they could finally bring themselves to say it
also that brief instance where soap was french made me cackle. WHY ARE YOU FRENCH?! 😭😭
i do kinda wish more angst/hurt/comfort would be explored in each timeline, more so in their last one which i felt like should've been way longer since it's THE FINALE. Of sorts. And ghost's traumatic past in it was mentioned but not touched upon which works as is, but would've been nice if they had more time at the end. With price and gaz, too. Especially since they ended up having nooo screen time 🙏 I did assume their last (corporeal, human) life would largely follow the mwII story and they’d finally get to retire at the end while still human and with the others coming over to visit and shit BUT-
it was still a solid, great ending as is. I loved every minute. Spent two FULL days reading this bad boy and you know what it's now one of my faves. I loved the concept, the execution, the characterisation, even the OCs were nice even when they didn't get that much action. 10/10 🔥🔥
