He couldn’t look directly at Peter as he said this, staring instead at his reflection in the nearby window, where the darkness outside and the flickering candle flames threw strange shadows across both their faces. “When you were young, at Hanukkah, there was some sort of – a toy, right? Like a top. It was wooden. Parts of it were painted blue.”
Like Ben’s hoodie, he didn’t say. Blue had always been a difficult color for him, making him want to be different in the strangest of ways.
