"This guy at table six was ruining your night. Then again, it wasn’t like it was through any outright rude methods, but it was already 20 minutes after Lovely Cup closed for the night. This shouldn’t have been a big deal, but you almost considered this an infringement of politeness, considering that your cafe was open the latest in the neighborhood. That yuppie jerk had sulked in maybe an hour earlier and you’d humored him through two painfully slow mugs of coffee. You considered just asking him to leave, but some annoyingly careful, superstitious part of you insisted that if you did that, it’d somehow come back to bite you."
