Summary
It’s a house like many others. White picket fence, the paint job being eaten by years of sun and water damage.
In the backyard, an old swing set miraculously holds up, rust slowly breaking it apart.When her fingers start dissolving, she doesn’t know if she’ll remember any of it, so she clings to it tooth and nail.
As she stares at the fence, desperately gasping for air, she catches a glimpse of her parents writing. Staring back at her, a growth chart stands, obsolete heights and long forgotten friendships carved into the wood.
Everything will be okay.
All she needs to do is remember.

June is probably his least favorite month of the year.
He swings down, enjoying the breeze hitting his face as he does, and lets himself get carried away by the familiar feeling. There’s no thinking, no anger or anxiety. He just swings from building to building, a ghost in the night until he’s reached his destination.
It’s a roof like hundred of others. There’s no water tower, or fancy signage. Just a regular roof, and sitting on it, a regular girl.

She’s wearing his jacket.
He didn’t mean for it to happen. It’s just that summers in Derry run surprisingly hot. Hot enough for his curls to bounce on his head and his tee shirts to be drenched in sweat. Enough for all of them to ditch their coats onto a big pile at the pub, only to grab onto them as the night finally brings back some cool air.
So when he picks up a shearling denim jacket, head woozy from all the dancing, he has no reason to believe it’s not his. Sure, it’s a little tight in the shoulders, and there’s something heavy in the inner pocket, but he’s not exactly in a state to notice either of those details.
It’s only when he sees Erin dancing ahead of them, holding hands with Orla that he realizes his mistake.

There’s something comforting about the familiarity of it all, like he could close his eyes and accurately predict what the rest of his school day would be like.
Ned will be the first face he sees when stepping through the doors of the gym, and MJ the close second.
His friend will flash him one of his toothiest smiles, and MJ a slightly smaller, but infinitesimally more nerve-wracking one.Some things stay the same.

Summary
The problem when your senses are dialed up to eleven, is that you start noticing things you didn’t use to.
It’s pretty useful when it comes to hand to hand combat or spotting criminal activity, but most of Peter Parker’s life is spent on school benches these days. The things he picks up on are less of the life and death variety an and more of a… weird conundrum of information he can’t quite process.
