Summary
The incessant banging on his door continued. Dazai grumbled to himself about common courtesies, then shuffled across the dorm and swung open the door.
The sight punched the breath from his lungs.
Standing in the doorway, gripping the frame with one hand while the other clutched a haphazard handful of bloodied bandages to his stomach, was Nakahara Chuuya.
Or, Dazai receives a late-night visitor. Being partners comes just as easily as it used to.

Summary
Death held the weapon high above his head. “We will never recognize each other again.”
Life looked up through wet lashes, but his eyes reflected sharp, angry determination. “We are both damned,” he hissed. It sounded like a prayer. “You will never escape this.”
Death’s answering grin was sharp as knives. “I suppose you’ll never know.”
Or, Dazai Osamu is the latest Angel of Death sent to the mortal realm. When he awakes, he does not expect to find a strange red-haired boy standing over him. When Nakahara Chuuya is on his way home, he does not expect a strange dark-eyed boy to crash-land in his field.
Neither of them expects to fall in love either.

Summary
He thought Chuuya might respond with another well-worn insult, something about his gangly limbs or resemblance to a fish. Or maybe just a simple “you’re ridiculous,” muttered under his breath with that fond, quiet smile he only reserved for these softer moments.
“Are you tired of all of it?” Chuuya asked instead.
Dazai went stiff.
Or, Dazai is exhausted by everything he does for a city that doesn't return the favor. A warm shower with Chuuya helps.

"You're too short for your own good, you know. Someone's going to pick you up off the street one of these days and then who will I have to make fun of?"
"Je vais t'étriper comme le maquereau visqueux que tu es," Chuuya hissed, grip tightening on his collar as he yanked them closer. Like this, Dazai could smell the jasmine of his shampoo and see the anger swimming in his eyes. [“I'm gonna gut you like the slimy mackerel you are.”]
"Oh, Chuuya," he sighed, grinning like a fool. "I love it when you talk dirty to me."
Or, Dazai is convinced (forced) to join his friends for a year in Paris, and he doesn't know a word of French. Chuuya is just hoping to get through school without any strange encounters, and he doesn't know a word of Japanese. They collide (literally) and the situation devolves from there. They figure it out.

“Whatever,” Chuuya muttered, shaking his head. He really didn’t have the energy for this. He grabbed what he was looking for, adjusted his basket, and made to walk past Dazai without another word. They brushed arms as he passed, and Dazai didn’t say anything as he walked away.
Then, the strangest thing happened.
Or, Dazai and Chuuya are both rendered unable to lie. It prompts some unwanted conversations and, even worse, feelings.

Apparently, Mori saw the understanding dawn on his face, because his smile widened and he spoke again. “I want you to join Port Mafia Modeling, Chuuya.”
Or, Nakahara Chuuya is the newest recruit of Port Mafia Modeling. Dazai Osamu is the agency's up-and-coming Demon Prodigy. Thrown into the public eye as PMM's rising talent, their lives crash together in a whirlwind of glitz and glam, and it may not be such a bad thing.

This was where it all went wrong.

He watched Atsushi’s eyes widen, lips pressed together. Shock, disbelief, wary hope, were all written on his face, clear as day, and Dazai’s breath hitched even before he said it.
“The sails are red.”
