UPDATE 21/11/2025: hiiii! The s5 anticipation has brought me back to this work, and I’m in the process of rewriting this fic :D It will still obvi be an oc fic, because otto is my girl, but I’m in the process of making sure it fits my more developed (and hopefully better lol) writing style. Summary

He obviously accepts, but some complicated feelings for another one of his childhood friends, unfortunately also being one of Lucas’ groomsmen, pushes back to the surface of Mike’s consciousness.

“He doesn’t know you like I do.” Mike’s dark eyes were pouring into his face, holding his gaze so intensely. “He doesn’t need you like I do.”
Will couldn’t breathe. He tried to speak, but his lips just parted as silence sat between them.
Mike’s eyes dropped down to his mouth, and he spoke again, this time rougher. “I had a lot of time to think while you were gone.” He was so close, the heat from his body starting to seep into the thin air between them.

On break from college, Will brings Carlton home to the Wheeler house. Mike's been waiting for Will to come back for months, trying to figure out how to tell him about his realization.
