Summary
Captain Gaston returns to Villeneuve after the war and quickly begins to build his reputation as an accomplished hunter. However, when he’s out in the woods, he can feel eyes on him: Is he the hunter or is he being hunted? Some creature in the woods is watching him, occasionally helping him, but never revealing itself. Then one night he finds out what it really wants.
The Beast remembers the cadet Gaston from the days when he was still the young lord, Adam. The days before he and the castle staff were wiped from the memories beyond the castle walls. His admiration for the hot-headed Gaston has only strengthened, and now he can't help but stalk him through the forest. Though even he doesn't know exactly what he'll do when he catches his prey.
