Summary
“What would you do if I abstracted tomorrow?” Pomni asked. She was almost afraid of the answer.
Jax turned around and stared at her, coldly. “I’d move on,” he stated, tilting his head with a tauntingly emotionless smile. “And probably forget about you.”
His words stung like hornets, and his gaze pierced like spears. Pomni looked down, befuddled at where the aggression might be coming from.
“Okay…okay. I understand.” She finally replied, turning away and making no effort to conceal her feelings of betrayal. Her eyes narrowed at the gun that shook in her tight grip and she steeled herself. This will get him.
Pomni inhaled. “In that case.” She firmly raised the pistol to her head, finger on the trigger, and paused. He had one last chance.
Jax tensed up at the sight, but he shook it off with a laugh. “Jeez! You really can’t take a joke, can you?”
That was all she needed.
