She buried her head in her hands and took a deep breath, then sat up straight. It would be fine. One date, a quick explanation: I’m not looking for a serious relationship; I’m married to my work and I spend most of my time with an obsessive, brilliant hermit who can’t bear to part with me. I may have a brain tumor, if that makes you feel better. Then she’d cut and run, as she always did. What was one more date?
Purely by chance, Philly PD never calls on Ed Jerse and Scully never leaves her badge out on the breakfast table. She makes it out of Philadelphia unscathed, but other nightmares follow her home: a suspected killer in her bed, a mass in her skull, and a partner who can't seem to bridge the gap. Well, at least she's got a new desk.
