Percy… isn’t entirely sure how he got here.
Hang on. Rewind. Play the tape again.
Okay. He was just having a normal day. The sun was shining, the birds (pigeons) were singing, Manhattan traffic was abysmal, and everything was fine.
And then a portal appeared in the sky over one of the tallest towers on the island and shit hit the fan.
And, really, what's a demigod to do when his city's under fire?
So now he's on the world's radar, and that's no fun. But, watching government agencies and Avengers froth at the mouth when they find him in the most random places or can't find him at all? Now that... that might be a little fun.

Basically Percy help out the Avengers in the battle of Manhattan and it bites him in the ass for the rest of the fic. He is awarded the nickname "Riptide" which is awesome and he is like this elusive popup hero and no one knows his name. I love love love it.

Two weeks.
Two weeks off was all the praetor of New Rome was granted, and Reyna fully intended to make them count. She was going to stay in her apartment, eat nothing but Ben and Jerry's and takeout, and watch the Food Network until Guy Fieri took her pureed mind to Flavor Town. Just two weeks of peace and quiet with no Frank to hound, no Hazel telling her to be nicer to the baby-man, and best of all: no paperwork.
But an unexpected (and unwelcome) visit from the Daughters of Athena and Aphrodite forces her across the sea to a land that is steeped in magic, mystery, and Doctor Who merch.
And now she's waking up with world's worst hangover, as some ancient queen is kidnapping Annabeth while screaming about her hate-on for Romans.

Percy wasn’t home. Nico scowled into the empty house, annoyance filling him. It was the first Saturday of the month, normally Percy and Nico would have dinner together. Percy’s insistence on this was annoying at first, but it became something Nico looked forward too now, a chance to relax, let himself spread out. But Percy wasn’t here, and the house was eerily silent, not even Lea was in her normal spot on the armchair that was too small for her.
It left Nico with a sick feeling in his gut.
