“What if I don’t want to exist outside of you?” Lancelot said, no longer a question but something he was just telling Merlin in the soft, gentle voice he used when confiding his secrets to Merlin during the dead of night. But instead of nighttime surrounding them, daylight spilled through his window and lit up Lancelot’s face, and somehow this was far more intimate than sitting in darkness. “I have sworn myself to you—to always be by your side, no matter what may come or where you may go. So why would I want to exist outside of you?”
Or, Merlin is the crowned prince of Ealdor and Lancelot is his knight.
