“Afraid?” Wrathion's voice was thick with amusement. “Anduin, my dear, I saw the way those orphans flocked to you this evening during our walk to the Cathedral. You knew each of them by name, and I would say you looked just as happy to see them as they did to see you. How could I be afraid of you?”

“You would be more than welcome to visit, you know,” Wrathion tells the prince with a charming smile. This isn't flirting, he tells himself, but it's an uncharacteristically poor lie. “Valdrakken's beauty is beyond words... it would be my honor to give you a tour sometime.”
Before he'd even processed his own words, he knew that he'd overstepped. Anduin's easy smile faltered, just a bit.
“Perhaps,” the prince said, not unkindly but wholly noncommittal. Wrathion notes a very faint blush rising to those pale cheeks. Anduin busies himself with taking a sip from the goblet of red wine he's been nursing, suddenly preferring to look anywhere but Wrathion. Words of apology are already forming on his lips when Varian interrupts, tactfully changing the subject, his tone light and even, as though the previous interaction had never happened.
