he looks past the glaze over his eyes, and Mitsuri’s face is so bashful, soft, gentle, like looking at the incarnation of spring, and just entirely warm. And that warmth floods through him, breaking away all the ice, threatening to melt everything he is, to drown him.
And, when he opens his mouth to express his disapproval, he finds the words stuck in his throat, unable to rise past the surface of the foreign feeling.
“I don’t think that’s silly.” He chokes.
Mitsuri’s smile grows in size, and Obanai, sinking below dread in the face of his hypocrisy, wonders how he hasn’t burned away to nothing yet.
(In which Obanai is a very cold person, and Mitsuri is a very warm one.)

“She wants you to pat her head, Giyuu-san,” Tanjirou said. She scooted closer to Giyuu with a grunt of affirmation, never breaking away her sight from those pools of listless blue.
“Oh,” Giyuu said. Slowly, he raised his hand and put his palm on top of her head. He stroked her hair, movements awkward but gentle, and her lips curled up.
At their sides, Tanjirou giggled, a merry sound. Nezuko finally understood how he saw the warm ocean at afternoon in the depth of Giyuu’s eyes instead of the old frost and blizzard.

Summary
Pressed against the ground, unable to move, Tanjirou suddenly felt a current of vulnerability flooding every part of his body. He felt terribly helpless in a matter of seconds, as if all the air that kept him alive had been taken from his lungs. He didn't even care about the strong presence the Pillars emanated around him, or the hand of the Wind Pillar Shinazugawa pressing down his head to continue with the reverence. Tanjirou just―stayed there, with tears flowing from his eyes upon hearing the contents of his master's letter.

It would be difficult to find someone without some level of injury aftermath in the Demon Slaying Corps, but the meanings behind them vary as the ways they were obtained. Some wear scars proudly, flaunting the achievement of escaping death once again, others hide them under clothes like failings.

One year and a couple rainbow crystals and Senshi later – with no princess in sight and still a scowl on Luna's little kitty face whenever Usagi reacted to his slow smirks and large hands – keeping away really didn't work out that well, and Luna hated it.
And so Usagi hid it. Hid it from him, hid it from Luna, hid it from the girls, tried her hardest to hide it from her heart as well.
The first time they'd ended up having sex in costume was almost an accident.
