“Nothing,” Maomao replies.
Chue hums, “That confirms it. Miss Maomao is thinking of the Moon Prince.”

“How long’s it been?” Logan asks, thoughtful. “What, like, two years? South by South West 2021, right? You were working there or something?” He smiles again, much too innocent. “Funny how we keep bumping into each other.”
“Yeah, hilarious, the same way that me hitting you in the knee caps would be hilarious.” Louise agrees. She feels uncomfortably infuriated at the fact that his eyes are still as blue as ever. There are models that would kill for his eyes. She probably wouldn’t even need to color correct any photos of him. It’s actually unfair. “The same way you leaving right now would be hilarious.” Louise speaks again, cutting off that train of thought before her agitation can grow further.
[Or: Louise is a freelance photojournalist who’s home for a few months to help Tina plan her wedding. Logan is a large animal vet who’s just agreed to participate in his best friend’s wedding. And suddenly Hermione can’t stand it. Following his gaze, she sees he’s staring at her arm, bare today to enjoy the rare warmth that has crossed Amsterdam’s city limits. He seems to come to the same conclusion she does at almost the same time, because his face goes ashen and he tears his eyes away. “Where are you staying?” Hermione asks, scrambling for a subject change.
“Oh, you know.” Fred shrugs. “Here and there.”

“I don’t know,” Sokka says, waving a hand in the air lazily. “I’m kinda high off these herbs that the healer gave me. Am I proposing?”
Toph shakes her head and flicks a pebble at him, so gently that he doesn’t even pretend it hurt. “You are insufferable.”

Summary
Louise hears about him through the grapevine. Different people drop different pieces of information, each one stumbling across it the way only people can —social media, attending the same event, a friend of a friend, or just plain old eavesdropping. However it happens, Louise finds the information always reaches her. Sometimes she finds it aggravating. Other times, she finds it oddly comforting. Every time, she feigns annoyance, but she always tucks the information away in the back of her mind. Logan’s always had a way of catching her off guard, of coming into her life just when she thinks he’s left it, and Louise figures it can’t do any harm to keep tabs.
Just in case.

One of the best fics I’ve read regardless of fandom! It takes on a life of its own and completely transcends the traditional meaning of “fan fiction.” Beautiful prose, evocative descriptions, tender imagery, provocative dialogue and such a powerful message that echoes the original source material. Read it and weep!

he looks past the glaze over his eyes, and Mitsuri’s face is so bashful, soft, gentle, like looking at the incarnation of spring, and just entirely warm. And that warmth floods through him, breaking away all the ice, threatening to melt everything he is, to drown him.
And, when he opens his mouth to express his disapproval, he finds the words stuck in his throat, unable to rise past the surface of the foreign feeling.
“I don’t think that’s silly.” He chokes.
Mitsuri’s smile grows in size, and Obanai, sinking below dread in the face of his hypocrisy, wonders how he hasn’t burned away to nothing yet.
(In which Obanai is a very cold person, and Mitsuri is a very warm one.)
