welp, here we are again.
as i recently found out about the adition of the secuel Homecoming, i thought i might come back and edit this. crazy how it's been so many years, omg i feel so old.SO. as i said, i love this fic. Warmth has such a special place in my heart, i love the characters and the setting and prompto's suffering! that hasn't changed lmao.
this fic is so heartwrenching and warming at the same time?? its always such a treat to read the different perspectives to all of the fucked up stuff the MTs had to go through. the tiny bits of progress, of finding out more about prompto and the mindset they programmed him on and seeing him be happy. urghhhh, i love him. I also adore the angst of the first chapters, when everything is so rough and they're just learning to deal with him and his sickness cause of the starscourge and SEEING PROMPTO BE AMAZED AT HAVING NICE THINGS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE-it pulls me back to the fandom every time. I re-read this every few months and i always end up staying up SO late. rip sleep schedule, you barely existed in the first place.
I was flabbergasted when i found out it got updated, in the same fic no less!! god, Homecoming got me good as well. the angst starts more slowly, but when they got to the MT factory it hurt so good, oh god these poor babies...
I loved seeing the different names to all of the MTs, all of the meaning subtly (or not) seeping through them. yay, latin. My favourites were Misericordis and Reverens, I think. oh god i love them and i desperately want them all to be okay ;-;
Prompto is on his way to unintentionally become MT jesus LMAO (good for him, good for him, i'm sure noct would support it)there's so many things to say about this fic that i can't even put into words. I think Homecoming was a delightful secuel to Warmth, they are both so freaking amazing holy shit. Warmth is definitely my favourite fic of this fandom, and possibly of all time as well. honestly if i ever get into bookbinding, i'd really like to make this into a real physical book for myself, hope that'd be okay.
My biggest gratitude to carolyncaves for writting this and consuming my every waking thought, thank you so much. I'm actually making a bookmark public for the first time ever i think?? this fic deserves it.

Summary
In a grand gesture of peace, King Regis invites royalty from all across Eos to come together in the Lucian capital of Insomnia to celebrate the 16th birthday of his son, Noctis Lucis Caelum.
The only thing more surprising than the King extending an invitation to the infamous Emperor of Niflheim, would have to be when Iedolas accepts; and not only does he accept, but he reveals that he will be bringing along his own son, who's existence had previously been unknown to anyone outside the Empire.
Will a chance encounter with the Niff Prince, be enough to change the Lucian Prince's preconceived opinions of Niflheim? Or will it confirm everything Noctis thought he knew about the far away kingdom of snow and ice?
