this was so good. i've read a lot of fma/hp crossovers and while theyre generally a pretty good genre, i really liked the take this fic did on it - normally they focus on that shock of "omg youre an amputee" "omg youre a muggle" but this fic kind of focused on ed being actually mature and just telling people as it is, and lacking the huge amounts of say .. disrespect he faces in other fics. while that disrespect is pretty realistic, it's kind of really oversaturated in every other fmab/hp i've read, so i thought that that lack thereof was a good point of this one. i also thought it was nice how they focused on the magical theory worldbuilding - maybe it's just my personal taste, but i ADORE magical theory worldbuilding, and i really liked the ideas the author had concerning the links between magic an alchemy, natural providence, etc. that was kind of the cornerstone of what made this fic entertaining for me!!! oh i also thought that the tutoring of fleur/viktor/cedric was very nice very mindful very demure a good addition i love triwizard friendly international relations with my whole heart
reread edit: extra dextra credit to the author for their worldbuilding. rereading it a second time i think the aspect i like the most is the speculation and monologues ed does on natural providence and the value of a soul. also nice to read a fanfic with a larger vocabulary range lol
also i deeply understand ed and his need for intellectual stimulation
