Shen Qingqiu didn’t jump, but it was a close thing. If he hadn’t recognized the voice despite his surprise, he would have already struck out blindly and crippled the man. Instead, he twisted in his seat, glaring over his shoulder at the young man reading the calligraphy papers over his shoulder.
The young man tilted his head, his ponytail draping over his shoulder as he gave Shen Qingqiu a lopsided grin.
“Shidi.” Shen Qingqiu greeted with an edge in his voice.
The young man took a step backwards and gave him a salute, not bothering to dispel the self-satisfied grin on his face. “Shen-shixiong, it’s been a while.”

“Oh my god, Stiles! What happened? Are you hurt, son?” His dad was panicking, and Stiles began to sob, his body nearly giving out under the weight of the despair radiating off his father. His dad’s eyes welled with tears as he gently shook Stiles's shoulders, desperate to hold his attention. “Honey, are you hurt? Please tell me where you’re hurt. Please, son...”
Stiles let his head fall heavily onto his father’s shoulder, who pulled him closer with gentle caution, terrified of worsening whatever injury the teenager had.
“Shh. I’m right here. Daddy’s here, Mischief.”
Stiles sobbed, clinging to his father. Meeting the Sheriff’s teary eyes, he listened as his dad asked again, completely wrecked, “Are you hurt, son? Where’s the bleeding coming from?”
Stiles let out another sob. “It...”
His dad shushed him softly, wiping the blood and tears from Stiles’s face. “It’s okay, Mischief. You can tell me. I’m going to get you help, just tell me where it is.”
Stiles looked at his father, utterly devastated. “It he-healed. It healed, Dad.”
An agonized sob tore from his throat as the Sheriff’s breath hitched—in the exact same moment his son’s eyes flashed a vivid, brilliant shade of red.

He has settled in to wait out the rain for as long as it takes. Sakura's bad temper isn't going to move him.

Summary
When Wei Wuxian brings a critically ill A-Yuan to Gusu for treatment, he offers a very enticing bargain: submitting himself freely to cleansing and punishment by the Lan. Then he adds something else that the Lan cannot possibly turn down: take in all of the Wen remnants as well, and he will destroy the Stygian Tiger Seal first.
Lan Qiren isn't about to let an opportunity to rid the world of that thing pass by. He just wishes he had a better idea of the complications doing so will bring.
