Summary
In the land of Lamiroir, there lived a prince. Orphaned as an adolescent, it was decided that the kingdom would be run by the previous King's advisor, Kristoph Gavin, in secret as King Regent until the Prince was of age.
But Lamiroir withered under the King Regent's rule—crops stopped flourishing, sickness invaded the land, and misfortune spread like a plague—and because of this, the people of Lamiroir hated and attacked the Prince as if he were the one to make their lives so miserable. As the Prince's twenty-fifth birthday and coronation crept nearer, the attacks worsened. To protect the Prince from these attacks, the King Regent summoned the noblest knight from an allied country to act as the Prince's guard until the day the Prince would become King.
This is the story of Prince Apollo and his devoted Knight, Sir Klavier.

Is Apollo supposed to winky face and heart back? Is he really? There’s no way. Is it rude if he doesn’t? Is it rude that he accepted a date with Klavier Gavin without knowing it was a date? It’s not like he would’ve said no if he’d known—though, actually, maybe he would’ve. Not because Gavin’s not attractive, because, come on, Apollo has eyes. And not because he doesn’t like Gavin because, come on, Apollo’s not that stupid. But because it just doesn’t… there’s no way it’d work. Gavin could never like him the way he likes Gavin.

Summary
“That scarf brings out your eyes, ja?” Klavier murmurs as they walk into the courthouse, maybe a little too close to one another. Any other time, any other person, and Apollo would brush it off as a joke. He’s brushed off almost that exact comment from Klavier before.
But this time—this time, it both settles and doesn’t quite settle in his chest. Because, God, Klavier really, truly thinks this shitty scarf from high school, frayed and one good breeze away from falling apart, looks good on him.
It’s the most pleasant realization of, oh, this is what it could be like. This is how it could feel all the time.
Or: Apollo, Klavier, and just a few of the ways they fall in love (and stay there).
