Benji’s voice echos triumphantly in his ear through the comms, and Ethan lets out a breathe that he doesn’t realize he’s been holding. They did it. Benji did it. The virus is gone. The satellites around earth are all still functioning, the world has not descended into chaos, and they’re all still alive.

“Ugh, smells rotten ,” Snart comments as he enters after him. Mick glances back at his partner, but only shrugs before resolutely marching forward. He hears Snart sigh, then the familiar footfalls that tell him the other man is close behind.

The mission was supposed to be simple. It wasn't even really a mission, to be honest. More like an errand run.
It was an ordinary day, with the Waverider hiding out in the temporal zone and the team all busying themselves with various activities until the next Aberration. Ray wasn't surprised when he was the only one who noticed they were short on food.
Even less surprised when he brought it up during breakfast and almost all of them excused themselves from going on a supply run with him.

The only thing that had stopped him was the other person in the room, sitting on the other futon, still in that ridiculous armored suit with his helmet in his hands, looking at him and his rampage with the most broken expression Mick had ever seen on his face.
