Summary
Alex has settled into his life at NYU Law quite well. His life is great in his Brownstone with Henry. He has, however, gained a bit of weight as EVERYONE seems to want to point out. After overhearing a conversation about himself, Alex starts to question his worth and Henry's lingering attraction to him.
““Close your eyes. Open your mouth. I have a surprise for you.” Henry commanded.
“Bossy.” Alex joked, voice only wavering slightly. Still, he obeyed. “Is it a sexy surprise?"
“No.” Henry’s voice even smiled beautifully. “It’s something you’ll like better.” Sweet blueberries danced across Alex’s tongue as a soft pastry filled his mouth. A muffin. It was a muffin like the one he had given away earlier. Though, he supposed he didn’t actually confirm he had given it away.
He thinks you like food more than sex.
Henry thinks you’re such a pig that you were truly lamenting that muffin.”
OR: Alex has issues with food and body image and Henry takes it upon himself to prove to Alex just how much he loves Alex.

“Oh, sweetheart,” Henry breathes, sitting beside him in the lounge chair, quickly grasping Alex’s hand in his own.
Immediately, Alex knows what Henry is going to say. “No, I know,” he says quickly.
Henry shakes his head at him. “No, I don't think you do,” he says in a hoarse voice. Alex looks closely at his husband and observes the dark circles under his eyes. It doesn’t look like he slept at all, and a pit forms in his stomach at the thought.
“And even if you do,” Henry continues. “I need to say it. We are going to fight this,” he says firmly. “And we are going to go wherever we have to go, see whoever we have to see, and we are going to win. Because I'm not going to let anything happen to you.”
Five years after moving to Austin, Henry and Alex are new parents to a beautiful baby boy, the light of their life. Alex is a stay-at-home Dad, while Henry is President of the Okonjo Foundation, breaking barriers to open a new shelter in Austin.
