Summary
This story falls in that time period during season seven when Olivia Benson was gone and Elliot had no partner. It's slightly AU in that Elliot is divorced. Toby has been released from OZ after serving fifteen years. Elliot is working a case of what he believes is rape and murder. Toby is trying to get by, eating nachos and smoking pot. DNA brings them together, and Elliot is sure he's found his murderer.

“Stanford Law,” Mike replies.
That gets the guy to perk up minutely, a there-and-gone twitch of his eyebrows. “Law?”
“Yeah. Don’t tell me—you’re a corporate sellout, aren’t you?”
Harvey laughs under his breath, which is how Mike knows he’s right.

After spilling a fuck ton of weed onto the fancy carpet of the Chilton Hotel meeting room, Mike figured his freedom was definitely temporary. And his oldest friend – now ex-friend – Trevor was going to make damn sure of it.
Then the hotshot lawyer in the room, still in the middle of shaking his hand, had smirked down at the drugs at their feet and Mike thought maybe he’d hit the jackpot somehow.
