Summary
With teams run by a small handful of big names, recruitment based almost entirely on who you know, and unchecked interteam dating, the superhero community is practically designed to encourage interpersonal abuse. When a former sidekick comes forward to say that she was abused by her mentor, the entire community has to reckon with the part they may have played—and with the abuses that may still be going unnoticed.

Bookmarker's Notes
cannot begin to explain how incredible and fascinating and interesting this look into systemic abuse is, even outside of DC media and on a broader scope

Summary
“Dick.” She squeezed his shoulder. “Dick, look at me.”
Slowly, as if he were pushing against a terrible force, he lifted his head.
“I have known you since I was thirteen years old, and I have known you in a dozen other lifetimes, so I need you to believe me when I say that there is nothing you could do that would make me stop loving you.”
Dick held her gaze. He looked like he was searching for something in her eyes, so Donna held still and hoped he found it.
“Did you really know me in other lives?” he asked.
_____
Dick and Donna, after the action, through the years.

Summary
“This isn’t the Court,” Bruce tells him, for what has to be the millionth time. “It isn’t.”
Dick is still wrapped in the blanket, clutching it close to his skin, and he looks away, pinning the ground with his gaze, until he finally meets Bruce’s eyes like he’s facing his biggest fear. He speaks hoarsely. “Where are my parents?”
“They’re —” Bruce falters. “They’re dead.”
He doesn’t react. “Was it the Court?” His voice shakes.
While fighting the Court of Owls, Bruce encounters a newly indoctrinated Talon and acquires his first child.

Summary
“Hey, it’s okay,” Phil whispered, holding his hands out to show they were empty. “We’re not gonna hurt you, kiddo.”
The kid blinked, doubt filling his eyes, and Phil couldn’t blame him. He and Techno weren’t exactly the friendliest-looking guys around.
When Phil’s eyes fell to the ground again, he noticed two things sitting near the kid’s feet. One was a heavy silver dagger, inlaid with intricate carvings of the same symbol that decorated the cultists robes. The second was another torn page, and this time, Phil only needed to see one word on it to realize what he and Techno had stumbled in on.
Sacrifice.
“You were going to be their sacrifice, weren’t you?” Phil whispered, horror seeping into his tone as he stared at the terrified child in front of him.
or, while exploring a tomb filled with monsters, Phil and Techno accidentally interrupt a cult meeting. Somehow they get a kid out of it.
