Summary
“Shixiong! You came to our palace!” Quan Yizhen is practically bouncing off the walls of said palace in his excitement, barely holding himself back to not tackle Yin Yu to the ground.
Yin Yu can’t help the smile that tugs at his lips. It really does feel good to be greeted with so much excitement. Pale hands tuck one of Quan Yizhen’s wayward curls behind the god's ear then remaining to cup a freckled cheek.
“I came to check on my puppy.”

Yin Yu was looking at Quan Yizhen with the rain running down his face like tears. “My robes, my hair…?!” he choked out, disbelieving. Lifting his face to the rain, he flung out his arms and started turning in slow circles. “Stupid things to be caring about!”

“…And for your birthday…?” He hoped it wasn’t a mistake to push it, he was almost completely certain that Quan Yizhen’s hesitation was for his sake. “I’d like to get you something,” he added softly.
Quan Yizhen stared at Yin Yu, stunned and cautious, as though he couldn’t quite believe that his shixiong was willingly discussing birthdays and gifts.

“I don’t know if you can hear me,” he was saying. “Crimson Rain said you probably could, but if you don’t it’s because you’re too far away. I hope you’re not too far away.”
Yin Yu wished he was far enough away not to see and hear Quan Yizhen’s quiet anguish.
“I want to see you again,” he went on desperately, “I want to ask you a lot of things.”
Feeling the sharp prick of annoyance, and the heavy weight of his disappointment and anger, Yin Yu closed himself off. It was like pulling a blanket over his head and going back to sleep. He was the person least qualified to explain things to Quan Yizhen, he thought bitterly.

Mu Qing stared at Quan Yizhen. This was the brat who beat up his own followers, never showed up for meetings, couldn’t be contacted through the communication array, slept all day, and only cared about a good fight. He mustered up the worst insult he could think of: “You sound like Hua Cheng.”

After a chance encounter on Mount Taicang, Mu Qing begrudgingly helps Quan Yizhen to wait for and to better understand his shixiong.

“Looks like I owe Black Water some money,” Hua Cheng said lightly, unprompted.
Xie Lian blinked. “What does that mean…?” he asked without thinking.
Hua Cheng threw him a sly smile. “Gege approves of my spying now?”
“No, certainly not,” he quickly answered, nearly biting his tongue. “They’ll tell me when they’re ready,” he added firmly.

Summary
Before Yin Yu quite realized it, he had inched close enough to Quan Yizhen on the bench they shared that their knees touched.
He was certain Quan Yizhen had noticed when he interrupted the conversation to say, “Shixiong, are you cold?” But before Yin Yu could even reply, he stood. “It’s kind of chilly tonight, I’ll go grab you a cloak.” He ran back inside, taking his warmth with him.
Yin Yu watched him go, then turned back to see that Xie Lian’s permanent smile had grown wider. It filled him with sudden dread.
“And here I was expecting you to be begging us to take you back to Ghost City with us tonight,” Hua Cheng said with a knowing grin. “Looks like I might have to fight for you instead.”

“You have the most disobedient followers I have ever seen…” Yin Yu sighed, a hint of frustration tightening his words.
Quan Yizhen sometimes still wished that beating them up was actually an effective deterrent. “Once they get an idea, it’s hard to change their minds.”
Yin Yu gave him a fond look. “Wonder where they get that from,” he said, voice soft.

Summary
“Binghe, ah,” Shen Qingqiu says, one hand stroking Luo Binghe’s hair, the other curled comfortingly around his waist. “Are you feeling better now? Or--”
“I-- I’m suh-- sorryyyyy,” Luo Binghe sobs wetly in his neck. The faucet is turned all the way open, with tears steadily pouring into the crook of Shen Qingqiu’s neck - there must be a salty puddle soaking into the bedding by now.
Because they are in bed, deeply intertwined with each other. With Luo Binghe clinging onto him like a limpet and legs tangled with legs, that would be bad enough all on its own. But no, there’s more than that. For the past twenty minutes now, Luo Binghe’s Heavenly Pillar has been planted firmly inside of Shen Qingqiu’s, ahem, ‘backdoor entrance.’ This normally wouldn’t be anything out of ordinary, but they’d also normally be papapa’ing in such circumstances. Which they had been, until things had come to a screeching halt. And now here they still are.
If only Shen Qingqiu could soothe and mollify Luo Binghe’s hysterics for at least long enough to get out of this position!!

Luo Binghe's 'crying during sex' habit spirals out of control.
