S'il n'a pas retrouvé l'envie de vivre d'ici là, il s'effacera.
Étudier à l'étranger devait être une échappée, un souffle neuf. Mais l'exil n'a fait que creuser la plaie. Les repas disparaissent, la faim devient complice, presque une victoire. Les jours s'alignent comme des pages blanches qu'il parcourt en comptant ses pas, ses gestes, ses notes.
Rien n'aurait dû dévier. En tout cas, jusqu'à Hwang Hyunjin. Un garçon qui fissure ses défenses et l'oblige à affronter ce qu'il fuyait : le désir, la honte, la possibilité même de s'attacher.
Ensemble, ils scellent un pacte : chaque semaine, un défi. Une parenthèse pour bouger, sentir, repousser un peu la chute. Mais peut-on vraiment tromper le vide avec des jeux ? -

Attend que l'été s'étire et s'efface, que les jours aient un sens, que quelque chose le tire de son inertie. Il noircit des carnets d'histoires inachevées, empile les vestiges de ses amours ratées sans jamais trouver de point final.
Puis, un soir, il le voit. Lui. Parti il y a cinq ans sans un regard en arrière. Le premier garçon qu'il a aimé.
Hyunjin devrait détourner les yeux, prétendre que rien n'a bougé. Mais certains souvenirs fermentent dans l'absence, gonflent et suintent jusqu'à éclater.
Dans la moiteur étouffante de l'été, entre regrets en suspens et silences gorgés d'amertume, Hyunjin vacille. Il voudrait croire qu'il peut revisiter le passé sans raviver ce qui s'y est brisé, mais il sait déjà comment cette histoire finira.
