Summary
“We should…” Dan Heng inhales, “...stop.”
“I agree,” Ren says, but his dark eyes say otherwise.
Dan Heng leans in again before leaving a peck on Ren’s cheek. “We should really stop.”
“Mm.” Ren pulls him by his arm and Dan Heng lets himself be pinned on the bed.
Or Ren and Dan Heng within years of unresolved romantic tension.

" Blade gives him a single glance before he goes back to picking up the fragments to pile onto a dustpan. Dan Heng almost leaves. Almost. What catches his eyes is the way Blade’s bandaged hands tremble as he slowly picks up glass, dropping each piece with a clink.
Dan Heng stands in the door, thinking maybe the trembling would pass. It doesn’t. In fact, it gets worse with each movement. "

Summary
Jing Yuan blinks. “Ge, do you not notice that scent around you?”
Yingxing blinks back. “What scent?” he asks. “Is this your roundabout way of telling me I need to take a shower because I stink?”
“Perhaps,” the youth smiles. “But I just thought there was a… faint scent of lotus on you. It’s similar to that of the Viyadhara High Elder.”
Or the 2 times Yingxing is clueless, the 3 times Dan Feng lies to himself, and the 1 time everything is as is.

Summary
“So, I wanted to ask—“ Firefly stopped abruptly and looked up at him. Her sunrise eyes burned with that flame that shone so brightly from her candlewick life. “No, first I need to apologize if my questions get too personal. If they do, you can tell me to drop it and I will. I don’t want to bring up bad memories.”
It seemed rather pointless for her to care about something like that. What did Blade have left of himself at this point other than the memories that cut into him? The pain was all that remained in this shell.
“Go on,” he told her.
“Does it ever get easier? Having someone you love look at you like a stranger?”
