Summary
It was just like the conversation about laundry the day before, and organizing the book shelf the day before that. Growing pains, his mom had said when he’d called to complain yesterday about how infuriating Ilya could be, how stubborn and particular he was. His mom had made a comment about the kettle calling the pot, Shane. Shane had found an excuse to cut the call short after that. He was not being stubborn, Ilya was.
-------------
A fight over loading the dishwasher leads to Shane learning about about Russian diminutives, and the meaning of names.

Summary
Duke hadn’t been expecting to catch any baseballs on this impromptu family outing, but he had kind of been hoping to be able to see the game. Like, at all.
There were no foul balls, stray balls, or even clear sight lines of the ball in the Small Stands.
“Man, I sure do love this view,” Duke mumbled, glaring at the concrete pillar nearly directly in front of his seat, blocking precisely half of the field, leaving Duke with a view only of the outfield and a smidge of second base.

A poorly planned family outing to watch a Gotham Knights Baseball game leads to the Wayne children seeking out alternative ways to enjoy a baseball game.

“Angus Macgyver and Jack Dalton are no longer employed by the Phoenix Foundation as of yesterday at 0900,” James says.
Matty doesn’t answer immediately; the two documents sitting on her lap are indeed letters of resignation marked effective immediately. She almost laughs as she tries to read much further than that. Somebody had already gone in and redacted well over three-quarters of each document.
Something big had happened in the time between the sordid affair with Patricia Thornton and Matty’s first morning as Director of Phoenix. There are no answers from James, and most documents from the months before Patti's early retirement are heavily redacted.
And so the question remains.
What the hell made the great Jack Dalton walk?

Summary
Riley can hear the footsteps of the nurse approaching, getting closer and closer to their curtain. She mentally braces herself for the coming identity-related shit show.
“Excuse me!” A loud and somewhat familiar voice stops the nurse mere inches away from the curtain. Riley can almost place the voice, but not quite.
A glance towards the cot Mac and Bozer are sharing lets Riley know that they definitely know the voice's owner if their shocked and confused looks are anything to go by.
“Is that…,” Mac hisses, voice overlapping with Bozer, who is much less quiet in his exclamation.
“Mom!?”

Frankie’s hand feels incredibly cool on his forehead, but he forces himself to lean away from her when Mike plops down on the bench next to him, taking the space that the family of loud children must have vacated when Mac wasn’t paying attention.
“How are your balls hanging?” Mike asks, confusing the hell out of Mac and earning Mike a quick slap to the head from Frankie.
“Hey! It’s a serious question! If you feel cold, but your balls are hanging normal, that’s a fever.”
“There are children present,” Frankie hisses.

A day trip to the Museum of Science with Frankie and her boyfriend goes less than pleasantly for a teenage Mac.

“So let’s move the cabinet space to the left of the equal sign and set the equation equal to zero,” Desi mumbles into his back. Mac can feel the vibrations as she speaks. It feels like love, the frequency of her voice hitting somewhere between a smile and a grin. He grins back, even though she couldn’t possibly see it.

The mid-morning sunlight is streaming through the passenger window, and reflecting a rainbow over the bridge of TK’s nose and spilling down his cheeks — it almost looks like it's TK’s skin that’s refracting the colors, but Carlos knows better than that.
It’s absolutely stunning, but the bright sunlight is giving Carlos a headache.
---
“So,” She says, “When did you meet a fae?”
“Um, what?” Carlos says, bewildered by the comment.
“You are sick because you don’t believe, you saw and couldn’t process. Your body is suffering because your mind couldn’t comprehend, you should-,” Her rambling sentence is cut off by his phone ringing. And honestly, he’s glad. He has no clue where that had been going, and he doesn’t want to know.

Nile really, truly, absolutely, has no idea why or how she ended up in the back seat of a minivan on the easternmost point of the United States. There’s a bag of swords carefully buckled into the window seat on her left, and a cooler of (mostly) alcohol shoved into the footwell of the window seat to her right.

A road trip across the United States gives everyone a chance to work through their emotions, and their relationships with one another.

Summary
If Owen Strand had a dollar for every time he’d seen a member of his team eat box mac-n-cheese straight out of the pot in the last week, he’d have five dollars.
To be fair, two out of the five times the perpetrator was his own son, so possibly the problem was his parenting skills.

Summary
“Oh.” Jake opened and closed his mouth a few times, trying to think of something to say.
Chloe looked at a spot on the wall behind him, and took a bite of her yoghurt.
“Oh.” He repeated, “A baby. How’d that happen?”
“Sex, Jake. We had sex.” Chloe was looking at him like he was stupid, which was understandable, considering the words that had just come out of his mouth.
“Oh. Yeah. That would make sense wouldn’t it.” He knew he sounded stupid, but he felt justified, considering the bomb Chloe had just dropped on him.
