“Absolutely not.”
Jazz’s smile faltered, as if he hadn’t anticipated denial– which was a poor fault on his part, given the fact Prowl’s consistent ‘no’s were more of a greeting than most else. He sped up his pace, their legs swinging in tandem as they ventured down the hall. Jazz slinked an arm over the Prowl’s shoulder, pulling him close.
“C’mon! What’s the worst that could happen?” He tried, to which Prowl gave him a venomous side-eye.
“Okay, yeah, maybe you don’t got the best track record with holiday slag like that– but this is different. It ain’t even a party, not really. Think of it as uh, uh– A date!” Jazz smiled, optics locking onto Prowl’s faceplate, gauging the effectiveness of his words. He’d gotten a scoff, which was a step above another ‘no’.
“Are dates not meant to be enjoyable?”
“This will be! Think of it for a sec, yeah? Just me, you–,”
“--And a 300 pound organic vegetable?”

Summary
Megatron can hear Optimus’ struts grind as he hauls himself off the berth, and heroically refrains from steadying him.
Optimus draws himself up, “What have I done to merit the attention of Kaon’s Supreme Commander?”
Strika chokes off a snort. Megatron chokes on an in-vent.
“Existed,” he rasps.

Summary
The first sign that something was truly wrong was found in the silence.
Battlefields, in Prowl’s experience, should not be silent - even in the hush after a battle, there was rustling, a medic bustling around, the faint whisper of straining vents. It wasn’t silent, not like this.
The next sign that something was wrong was the screams. Shouts, he could understand - Yells, orders barked as loud as a mech can, cries of pain, maybe the sound of a vocalizer shorting out - But not this, the sound of a mech’s spark being torn to pieces, of loss and grief too pure to be expressed in any form other than the processor-splitting scream that pierced the momentarily still air.
Yes, something was very, very wrong.AKA, Prowl's gestalt is wounded and he has to confront the fact that maybe, just maybe, he gives a shit. Jazz is bad at apologies and Prowl is fucking stupid.
