And you don’t really care if this version lives or not. You just want it to remind you of that one.” She shook her head. “Let it go, Ekko. This version’s not worth it.”
Silence hung in the air.
It stretched for a very long time.
Ekko rose to his feet. Good. Get out. Let me finish the job.
He didn’t.
