Summary
After Elminster's visit, Tav checks on Gale and his condition.
(In which faith is discussed, healing magic is applied and the local cleric of Selûne tries her best to give some hope to her wizard.)
He should refuse. He should stay at camp and focus on making himself useful. He should not give in to the ache that seized his chest, although he knew very well the orb had not been its cause.

Summary
Part of her wonders if it would be easier if she’d never been a cleric. If she’d never had any special powers that could raise the dead in the first place. Maybe she would have learned all of this sooner.
“It just feels,” Jester says, trying to put some of that into words, “like I had a power that just stopped working.”
Jester Lavorre spends a lifetime learning how to let go.

Summary
‘All this time,' Gale says. 'All the understanding I’ve gained of what our relationship truly was. Every resolution I forged to keep my – dynamic with Mystra professional, polite. And still I end up crouched at her altar, hungry for scraps. For an apology that will never come.’
(In which Gale knows that it is pointless to wish for Mystra to be sorry. She cannot be. It is not in her nature.
He wishes it anyway.)

Summary
“Ugh. ‘m fine.” Wyll mumbles, waving him off in an attempt to reassure him. “I spent months in the Hells. If I survived that, surely I’ll survive this too.”
“The Hells?” The Wizard asks with a note of interest.
“Elturel.” It’s Zevlor who answers. “Gale of Waterdeep, meet Wyll Ravengard, a defender of my people and one of the best of Baldur’s Gate, or so I hear.”
Wyll laughs softly. “Few people call me that. Wyll is fine.”
“Hold on— did you save Ravengard?” His attention is turned to a different tiefling, one with a glow coming from deep within her chest. “As in like Grand Duke Ravengard, the guy we’ve been trying to rescue for ages, and his son, who everyone thought was dead?”
(Or in another world, Wyll never makes a pact with Mizora and stays in Baldur’s Gate. He ends up with a tadpole anyways.)

Summary
“Beauregard – you said she is outside?” Essek half-turns in the direction of the front door. “Should we invite her in?”
It feels like there is something stuck in his throat. “In a moment. She is, ah – giving us some space.”
Essek turns back to stare at him. Repeats quietly, dangerously, “Space.”
Caleb forces himself to swallow. “Yes.”
Essek’s attention is a palpable thing now, sharp like a knife’s edge against his cheek. “Explain.”
One moment makes all the difference during the battle at Blumenthal. In the aftermath, the Nein grapple with what comes next.
